To Be Released on 15 March
Princess lives in the midst of the plains of Oklahoma. While her father fights in the war, her mother works in town, and Princess keeps the farm. One day, she finds an opossum kit cowering in its mother’s ravaged remains. Princess realizes that her dog killed the mother, and she knows that her father would refuse to let her raise the baby. She has a difficult decision to make because, whatever she chooses, the consequence will be unacceptable to her or to her father.
Tracy’s Vietnamese name is Tuyet. She’s a con-lai (half-breed), the daughter of a Vietnamese woman and an American soldier. In 1980, Tracy goes to live with her father and his wife. After Tracy discovers a soldier’s dog-tags in her father’s ammunition case, her memories of life in Vietnam collide with her current life in California, and she questions where her heart belongs.
This is Jen Blom’s first book, and I haven’t read anything by Partridge. The books’ story lines interest me, and their cover art is great!!
